PROP 21

**OPPOSE** Proposition 21 - Rent Control Affordable Housing Initiative

Will turn back Governor Newsom’s rent control law, apply rent control to newer property and have dramatic impact on housing and property owners.
  • Caps rent increase to 15% after tenant vacates—previously landlords allowed to bring rental unit up to market value and additional 5%
  • Encouraging landlords to take rental properties off the market and convert them into condos and town homes, further reducing the rental housing supply and making the housing crisis even worse.
  • Put as many as 539 rental boards in charge of housing, with bureaucrats deciding what people can and cannot do with their properties.
